    The Summer 2026 General Welfare Eligibility (GWE) benefit will be available for portal attestation beginning Monday, August 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. PDT.

    To be eligible, Tribal members must have been enrolled as of June 30, 2026

    How to Attest

    • Through the GWE Portal: Attestations can be submitted through the Tribal Member Portal beginning August 3, at 10:00 a.m. PDT..
    • Paper Applications: Paper applications will be mailed on July 22, 2026 to eligible households without portal accounts. Applications will also be available for download in the Weekly Updates beginning July 24, 2026.

      The Cowlitz Indian Tribe has launched a new GWE portal to make the attestation process secure and convenient! This GWE portal is specifically designed for GWE attestations and is separate from the Member Portal that launched this summer.

      Portal Features:

      • View, track, and attest for your available benefits
      • See benefit details for your eligible dependents
      • Reach out to staff through a built-in support system

      To get started, please see the resources linked below for help during registration, two-factor authentication set-up (2FA), and attestation. Please note: When registering, use the email that you have on file with the Enrollment Department.

      The  Disability GWE Program is available for attestation as of Monday, January 5, at 10 a.m. PST. To be eligible for the Disability GWE Program, member must send proof of medical or psychological disability which demonstrates their inability to be employed to the Cowlitz Indian Tribe Enrollment office, along with the Disability GWE Program application. Proof of eligibility must be submitted yearly for anyone not receiving SSD or Medicare. Written documentation must be included from one or more of the following sources:

      • SSI
      • SSD
      • Veterans Administration
      • Worker’s Compensation
      • Medicare
